Eric Brett Patterson

Mr. Eric Brett Patterson, a native of Grambling, Louisiana, was born on August 24, 1960 to Ezekiel K. Patterson and Juanita Davis Patterson who both proceeded him in death.  He took his heavenly wings on Monday, September 25, 2023.

Eric received his primary and secondary education at the Laboratory schools on the campus of Grambling State University.  During these years he was active in the band, serving as percussionist.  He graduated from Grambling State University with a BA in Sociology.

Eric professed his hope in Christ at a very early age and became a licensed minister under the tutelage of Elder James Calvin Dean and served for eight years as assistant pastor of the Church of God and Christ of Grambling.  He spent several years preaching and teaching the Bible at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center in Ruston, LA.  Eric served as Spiritual Advisor to the Student Government President while attending Grambling State University and continued the Christian movement of spreading the word through Christian service and witnessing.

Eric was preceded in death by his brother, Everett C. Patterson, Sr. and his only sister, Bernita L. Patterson.  He leaves to cherish his memory brother E. Kenneth Patterson (Belinda) of Atlanta, GA, a sister-in-law, Vanesssa Patterson of Richmond, VA, two nephews, Evan K. Patterson and Everett C. Patterson, Jr. and a host of family and friends.

Graveside service for Rev. Eric Patterson will be held at 11:00am on Monday, October 2, 2023, at Patterson Memorial Gardens (1131 Patterson Road) Kinston, NC.
