Ms. Gloria Yvonne Kornegay, 81, of 1930 Tara Court, Unit 104, Greenville, NC ( formerly of Kinston, NC ) peacefully closed her eyes into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC. A Private Funeral Mass service will be held Monday, August 30, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 400 Academy Heights Road, Kinston, NC. Interment will follow in Pinelawn Memorial Park, Kinston NC. A Walk-through viewing will be held from 1:00-3:00 PM on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at the funeral home. DUE TO THE DELTA VIRUS AND COVID-19, MASKS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING ARE REQUIRED at the Funeral Home, Church, and Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Holy Spirit Catholic Church 400 Academy Heights Road, Kinston NC.
Ms. Kornegay is survived by her sisters; Brenda K. Jones of Greenville, NC, Sherrill V. Kornegay of the home, Cassandra K. Colson (Graylin) of High Point, NC, brother; Gregory J. Kornegay (Felicia Earl) of Greensboro, NC, sister-in-law; Barbara K. Kornegay of Goldsboro, NC, 5 nieces; 5 nephews; 3 great-nieces; 2 great-nephews; a host of cousins; and 3 lifelong friends; Jean Barber, Edith Cahn, and Hilda Moye all of Kinston, NC.
