Mrs. Hazel Ray Battle Mumford, 80, of 706 Girl Scout Road, Kinston, NC peacefully closed her eyes into the joys of the Lord on Sunday, October 13, 2024, in the quietness of her home. Funeral services for Mrs. Mumford will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 2:00pm at Greater Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church (311 East Street) Kinston, NC. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery (917 Cleveland Drive) Kinston, NC. A Wake will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024, at Greater Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church from 4-7:00pm. DUE TO VARIANTS OF COVID-19, MASKS ARE REQUIRED AT THE FUNERAL HOME AND CHURCH.
Mrs. Mumford is survived by her husband, Rev. Dr. Jimmy A. Mumford of the home, her son, Cedric R. Mumford (Angela), her daughter, Rev. Dr. Debra J. Mumford (Africa) of Louisville. KY, her siblings, Christine Banks of Hornell, NY, Aaron Vanderhoef of Miami, FL, Rosalind Lyles, Paula Nunn (Lacewell) of Durham, NC, Anthony Vanderhoef of Hornell, NY her grandchildren, Cedric R. Mumford, Jr. (Regina), Sorrell Gardner, Andre Antino Clark, Andre Ham, Anthony Watts, 8 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.
