Elder James Allen “Bruh” Barnes, 89, of 1000 Brentwood Drive, Kinston, NC closed his eyes into eternal rest on Monday, December 13, 2021 at Vidant Inpatient Hospice Center in Greenville, NC. Funeral services for Elder Barnes will be held at 12:00pm on Friday, December 17, 2021 at Heath Abundant Life Ministry Church, (1415 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, Kinston, NC). Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery , Kinston NC. A walk-through viewing will be held from 3:00-6:00pm on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at the funeral home. DUE TO DELTA VIRUS AND COVID-19, MASKS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING ARE REQUIRED AT THE FUNERAL HOME, CHURCH, AND CEMETERY.
Elder Barnes is survived by his wife Odessa Jones Barnes of the home; his children, William Barnes, Robert Barnes, Evelyn Hart, and Beady Hall; two sisters, Susie Cheeks, and Thelma Barnes; one brother, Harvey Barnes, 18 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
