JOYCE MARIE KOONCE SASSER, 73, of 3368 6th Street S E, Washington, DC (Formerly of Kinston, NC) closed her eyes into eternal joy on Wednesday, January 29,2025 at George Washington Hospital in DC. Funeral arrangements for Ms. Sasser will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at St. James Church of Christ Disciples of Christ Church (401 Queen Street) LaGrange, NC. Interment will follow in Jerusalem Church Cemetery (395 Jerusalem Church Road) Seven Springs, NC.  A WALK-THROUGH VIEWING will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025, from 4-6:00PM at the funeral home. DUE TO THE INCREASE OF COVID-19 VIRUS, MASKS ARE REQUIRED AT THE FUNERAL HOME AND CHURCH. 

Ms. Sasser is survived by her sons, Adrian Ray Sasser (Davina) of Maryland, Pierre Sasser of Winston Salem, NC, Derrick Sasser of Charlotte, NC, her siblings, Olizie Perry (Robert) of Maryland, Teresa Sasser of Kinston, NC, brothers of another mother, Troy Pettiford, Lewis Anderson, 9- grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
