Mrs. Julia Elizabeth Dawson Smith, 78, of 1704 Dubose Drive, Kinston, NC peacefully closed her eyes into the joys of the Lord on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, in the quietness of her home. Funeral services for Ms. Smith will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at Mt. Calvary F. W. Baptist Church (602 S. Wooten Street) LaGrange, NC.  Interment will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at 2:00pm exact at Eastern Carolina State Veteran Cemetery (164 Longs Plant Farm Road) Goldsboro, NC.  There will be a walk-through viewing on Monday, October 16, 2023, from 3-6:00pm at the funeral home.  DUE TO VARIANTS OF COVID-19, MASKS ARE REQUIRED AT THE FUNERAL HOME AND CHURCH.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, Bennie Smith of the home, her children, Yolanda Spivey, Felicia Greats, Kwame Smith, Kizuwanda "Kizzy" Smith, 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.
