Mr. Marte’ Deon Powell

Mr. Marte’ Deon Powell, 43, of Kinston, NC passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2019. Funeral services for Mr. Powell will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 11:00 am at Hull Road Free Will Baptist Church in Kinston, NC.  Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery in Kinston. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 10, 2019 from 4:00 until 7:00 pm at the funeral home. 

The Powell family will receive family and friends at 2712 Turnage Drive, Kinston, NC.

Marte’ attended Lenoir County Public Schools.  He graduated in 1994. He  was employed  by Joseph’s
Community Support Services. His expertise in mentoring children was well known in and throughout the community.  He was an excellent musician and used his gift whenever and wherever he was needed.  

Marte’ leaves to cherish his memories to his Wife, Mrs. Ricartina S. Powell of the home; Three daughters: Ms. Kashina Williams Arnold (DeShawn) Raleigh, NC, Ms. JaNyiah Powell and Ms. Betsianna Powell, both of the home; Two granddaughters, Ms.Arianna Williams and Ms. Adrianna Arnold, Dunn, NC; Mother, Mrs. Thelma Jean Powell of Kinston, NC; Six sisters, Ms. Shaqiutia Powell, Jacksonville, NC, Ms. Carrie Dudley (Tony), Ms. Shambra Abron (Antonio), Ms. Helen Moore, all of both of Kinston, NC, Ms. Ethel Carol Sutton (Jerry) of LaGrange, NC and Ms. Robin Casey (David) of Goldsboro, NC;
Two Brothers, Mr. Jayondon Powell of Jersey City, New Jersey and Mr. Antonio Simmons of Kinston, NC.
