Mr. Rufus Jones, Jr, 87, of 1405 E. Caswell Street, Kinston, NC, closed his eyes peacefully into eternal rest on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at North Carolina Veteran Home (2150 Hull Road) Kinston, NC.  Funeral services for Mr. Jones will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday April 21, 2023, at St. Augustus A.M.E. Zion Church (318 E. North Street) Kinston, NC with Military Honors.  Interment will follow at 12:00 noon EXACTLY at North Carolina State Veteran Cemetery (164 Longs Plant Road) Goldsboro, NC.  A walk-through viewing will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2023, from 3-6:00 pm at the funeral home.  DUE TO VARIANTS OF COVID-19, MASKS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING ARE REQUIRED AT THE FUNERAL HOME, CHURCH, AND CEMETERY.

Mr. Jones is survived by his children, Ronda Jones Summers, Rory Wicks, Durwin Adams, 13 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
