Ms. Sarah Elizabeth Thompson, 78, of 3687 Jay Street NE Washington, DC (formerly of Kinston, NC) closed her eyes into the joys of the Lord on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, in the quietness of her home. Funeral services for Ms. Thompson will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at St. Augustus AME Zion Church (318 North Street) Kinston, NC. Viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at 10:00am (1 hour prior to service). Interment will follow in Mills Memorial Gardens (1300 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Blvd) Kinston, NC. DUE TO VARIANTS OF COVID-19, MASKS ARE REQUIRED AT THE CHURCH AND CEMETERY.
Ms. Thompson is survived by her son, Corradino Thompson, 4 grandchildren, Danielle Pinkney, Davon Robinson, Kiaira Gross, and Kaaliyah Ashton, 5 great-grandchildren, Aziyah Venable, Zaniyah Venable, Sediq Venable, Arden Robinson, and Dayrell Ellison, 2 sisters, Mildred Cobb Clark (Marvin), Geraldine Cobb, sister-in-law, Emma Doris Thompson (William) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
