Ms. Velma Grace Poole McCarter, 80, of 1508 N. Queen Street, Kinston, NC closed her eyes into eternal joy on Sunday, February 9, 2025, in the quietness of her home. Funeral services for Ms. McCarter will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery (164 Longs Plant Farm Road) Goldsboro, NC, with Military Honors. A WALK-THROUGH VIEWING will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at the Funeral Home from 3-6:00PM. DUE TO COVID-19 VIRUS INCREASE, MASKS ARE REQUIRED AT FUNERAL HOME. 

Ms. McCarter is survived by her siblings, Willis Poole, Jr. (Myra), Barbara Purdie (Kelvin) all of Kinston, NC, Brenda Poole of Winston-Salem, NC., her nieces, Alicia A. Poole, Bella Cox, Zara Poole, her nephews, Brannon A. Poole, Willis Poole,III, her goddaughter, Arreyel Jones and a host of other relatives and friends.
